Create from Within
March 18, 2023
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Please Note: This registration is for the in-person session Saturday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m. The class is held at Noble Learning, 3333 Adams Ave. in the Normal Heights area of San Diego. The Noble Learning shop will be open before and after the class.
In this 90-minute class, you will experience a higher energy of artistic creativity for visual arts (drawing and painting). The inspiration and techniques are also very helpful for other creative pursuits such as music and writing.
This fun, active hands-on workshop will help you to explore the boundless creativity that results from meditation. You’ll learn techniques to:
- Focus and clear your mind
- Discover your inner creative energy
- Experience an intuitive flow
- Feel a deeper artistic motivation
- Rekindle your aspiration to create
As you’ll be creating art during the session, we will provide some simple materials–colored pens/pencils, watercolors, paint, and paper/canvas.
Who will benefit from this workshop? Anyone looking for inspiration to start or continue their creative journey (from beginners to seasoned artists).
This class is offered by Noble Learning and based on the teachings of spiritual teacher, artist, writer and musician Sri Chinmoy.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
The Meditation & Creativity series is led by three accomplished artists who have also worked extensively in writing and music. Each of the facilitators has practiced daily meditation for more than 30 years. Art & Meditation is part of a 3-part series (with the other two sessions focused on music and writing) which has been offered in various venues around the world, where the instructors have been lauded for their supportive approach to helping others express their own intuitive creativity.
Papaha Gosline first began practicing meditation with Sri Chinmoy more than 30 years ago at the beginning of his career as a professional artist. Combining these two disciplines, he is currently focused on large oil pastel drawings, sculptural installations, and site-specific digital projections with meditative sound and music. He lives in San Diego.
London-based Devashishu Torpy has a strong interest in poetry and creative writing. He has been practicing meditation and offering classes for over 30 years. He is currently the Director of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run in Europe, an event that connects individuals and organizations around the world.
Pujari Sheaffer has integrated art into his meditation practice for over 40 years. He taught art to children for 20 years in Northern California and is currently a muralist and landscape gardener in San Diego.
