This free 90-minute class is the third of a 3-part series in which you will experience a higher energy of artistic creativity for visual arts, writing, and music. You are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions.
This third class (Saturday, May 8) focuses on music. Session 1 (Visual Arts) and Session 2 (Writing) have separate registration pages. All classes are free.
This innovative hands-on workshop will help you to experience the boundless creativity that results from meditation. You’ll learn techniques to:
- Focus and clear your mind
- Discover your inner creative energy
- Experience an intuitive flow
- Feel a deeper artistic motivation
- Rekindle your aspiration to create
This live, interactive class will include chanting, meditating with music, and an informal “jam session” where you’re welcome to join in by playing along or singing with the simple meditative melody (which will be given during the session).
Who will benefit from this workshop? Anyone looking for inspiration to start or continue their creative journey (from beginners to seasoned artists). This is a live, interactive online class (not a recorded webinar).
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
The Meditation & Creativity series is led by three accomplished visual artists who have also worked extensively in writing and music. Each of the facilitators has practiced daily meditation for more than 30 years. During the third class of the series (focused on music), some additional musicians will join the session.
Papaha Gosline first began practicing meditation with Sri Chinmoy more than 30 years ago at the beginning of his career as a professional artist. Combining these two disciplines, he is currently focused on large oil pastel drawings, sculptural installations, and site-specific digital projections with meditative sound and music. He lives in San Diego.
London-based Devashishu Torpy has a strong interest in poetry and creative writing. He has been practicing meditation and offering classes for over 30 years. He is currently the Director of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run in Europe, an event that connects individuals and organizations around the world.
Pujari Sheaffer has integrated art into his meditation practice for over 40 years. He taught art to children for 20 years in Northern California and is currently a muralist and landscape gardener in San Diego.
This class is co-sponsored by Noble Learning and Sri Chinmoy Centre.
