- Focus and clear your mind
- Discover your inner creative energy
- Experience an intuitive flow
- Feel a deeper artistic motivation
- Rekindle your aspiration to create
As you will be writing during the session, we’ll have pen and paper available. If you have your own favorite writing implement, feel free to bring it.
Who will benefit from this workshop? Anyone looking for inspiration to start or continue their creative journey (from beginners to seasoned artists). This is a fun, active, hands-on session.
The workshop is based on the teachings of spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy,
who was also a prolific artist, writer, poet and musician.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
The Meditation & Creativity series is led by three accomplished visual artists who have also worked extensively in writing and music. Each of the facilitators has practiced daily meditation for more than 30 years. During the third class of the series (focused on music), some additional musicians will join the session. Having led this series in venues around the world, the instructors have been lauded for their supportive, inspiring approach to helping others express their own intuitive creativity.
Papaha Gosline first began practicing meditation with Sri Chinmoy more than 30 years ago at the beginning of his career as a professional artist. Combining these two disciplines, he is currently focused on large oil pastel drawings, sculptural installations, and site-specific digital projections with meditative sound and music. He lives in San Diego.
London-based Devashishu Torpy has a strong interest in poetry and creative writing. He has been practicing meditation and offering classes for over 30 years. He is currently the Director of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run in Europe, an event that connects individuals and organizations around the world.
Pujari Sheaffer has integrated art into his meditation practice for over 40 years. He taught art to children for 20 years in Northern California and is currently a muralist and landscape gardener in San Diego.
