Meditation & Creativity is a 3-part series designed to help you experience a heightened creativity for visual arts, writing, and music. Noble Learning periodically offers online sessions of this series; we can also present the series free of charge for groups of 10 or more.
Who will benefit from this workshop? Anyone looking for inspiration to start or continue their creative journey (from beginners to seasoned artists). This is a fun way to engage your inner artist, writer or musician!
The workshop is based on the teachings of spiritual teacher and artist Sri Chinmoy and led by a team of international instructors, all of whom have considerable experience in the arts.
This innovative hands-on workshop will help you to experience the boundless creativity that results from meditation. You’ll learn techniques to:
- Focus and clear your mind
- Discover your inner creative energy
- Experience an intuitive flow
- Feel a deeper artistic motivation
- Rekindle your aspiration to create
Each session features innovative, engaging activities in which you meditate and then create art, poems, or music.
ACTION PLAN HANDOUT
At the end of each session, you’ll receive an Action Plan handout to support you in using the techniques after the class–and customizing them according to what works best for you.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS
The Meditation & Creativity series is led by four facilitators, each of whom has worked extensively in visual arts, writing or music (and in some cases all three). Each instructor maintains a strong daily practice of meditation and other spiritual disciplines.
Papaha Gosline first began practicing meditation with Sri Chinmoy more than 30 years ago at the beginning of his career as a professional artist. Combining these two disciplines, he is currently focused on large oil pastel drawings, sculptural installations, and site-specific digital projections with meditative sound and music. He lives in San Diego.
London-based Devashishu Torpy has a strong interest in poetry and creative writing. He has been practicing meditation and offering classes for over 30 years. He is currently the Director of the Sri Chinmoy Oneness-Home Peace Run in Europe, an event that connects individuals and organizations around the world.
Pujari Sheaffer has integrated art into his meditation practice for over 40 years. He taught art to children for 20 years in Northern California and is currently a muralist and landscape gardener in San Diego.
A lifelong musician originally from Italy, Gabriele Settimi now lives in San Diego. He regularly plays and arranges “music of the heart.”
These classes are co-sponsored by Noble Learning and the San Diego Sri Chinmoy Centre.
